Meet the dedicated professionals behind New Horizon Restoration. Each member brings a wealth of experience and expertise to ensure the highest standards in every project.

• Michael Kelson
  Michael began his professional journey in the mid-1990s as a project manager specializing in custom home construction in New Jersey. After gaining valuable experience, he transitioned to the masonry restoration field in 2000, taking on the role of Project Engineer with Braxton Engineering. In this position, Michael was responsible for conducting Local Law inspections, authoring Local Law reports, designing work scopes based on repair requirements, and overseeing contractors to ensure compliance with contract documents, budgets, and schedules.

  In 2004, Michael moved to the contractor side of the industry as a project manager. Over the next eighteen years, he worked with several leading firms in the New York City restoration sector. During his tenure, Michael personally managed approximately $180 million in restoration projects. His work encompassed a wide range of tasks, including roofing, masonry, stone and terra cotta replacement and repair, as well as full recladding of entire buildings. Some projects involved collaboration with subcontractors, such as his future and now current partner, Juan Perez.

  In 2023, Michael partnered with Juan to establish New Horizon Restoration. He brings a strong background in project management to the company, while his partners contribute their expertise in field and workforce management, creating a well-rounded leadership team.

• Juan Perez
  Juan offers over twenty-eight years of experience to New Horizon Restoration. His career began in the late 1990s as a laborer in the restoration industry. Juan quickly advanced to a supervisory role, demonstrating his ability to lead teams and oversee projects. In the early 2000s, he leveraged his knowledge of workforce management and project execution to start his own subcontracting company. Through this venture, Juan provided field and workforce management services for many prominent firms in the restoration industry.

  Juan continued working as a subcontractor until 2023, when he partnered with Michael to launch New Horizon Restoration. He brings his deep understanding of the industry to the new company, helping to drive its continued growth and success.

• Fernando Perez
  Fernando Perez, like Juan, began his career as a laborer in the restoration industry. Over the following years, he progressed to the role of foreman, learning a variety of trades including steel and concrete work. For the past fifteen years, Fernando operated his own subcontracting firm, providing skilled workforce services to several restoration and concrete contractors across the city.

  In 2025, Fernando joined New Horizon Restoration as a partner, bringing with him twenty-five years of experience in construction and workforce management. His background further strengthens the company’s ability to deliver exceptional results for its clients.
